Innovation Showcase – Honouring of the Best Plant Breeds - IPM Essen 2015

(ZVG) Since 2008, the latest plant innovations have been exhibited and honoured in the Innovation Showcase at IPM ESSEN. All the plant exhibitors at IPM ESSEN will have the possibility of presenting their innovations in Hall 1A.
In 2015, 40 exhibitors have submitted a total of 65 innovations in eight categories. 24 of these innovations were registered in the "Woody Plants" category alone. In the "Bedding and Balcony Plants" category, the visitors will be able to marvel at ten innovations. Eight new bushes and shrubs, eight innovations in the "Flowering House Plants" category as well as five new cut flowers will be presented to the expert jury. Four innovations in the "Spring-Flowering Plants" category, three new tub plants as well as three new green house plants will complete this year's Innovation Showcase.
"Innovations" in the terms of the exhibition regulations will include new breeds and new wild and growth forms which have not been known until now and have not been exhibited at any other German fair. The exhibited plants will be assessed by a knowledgeable jury on the day before the opening. The most attractive plant in each category will be chosen as the "IPM Innovation 2015" and will be presented in Hall 1A on the opening day.
Throughout the period of the fair, the visitors will be able to obtain information about these innovations. The IPM Innovation Showcase will be jointly staged by Zentralverband Gartenbau e. V. (ZVG - "Central Horticultural Association") and Messe Essen GmbH.
Due to the great interest in the results of the latest activities of Arbeitskreis Neue Zierpflanzen ("Working Party on New Ornamental Plants") in 2014, this will be represented within the framework of the Innovation Showcase in 2015, too.
