THEME

Theme GrootGroenPlus 2016: My favourite plant!

This year, trade fair GrootGroenPlus will be centred around the theme 'My favourite plant!'. We have noticed that there was a need for a theme that was all about plants and sharing knowledge. 'My favourite plant!' offers the perfect connection between those aspects and offers possibilities. It also offers a lot of room to get more in-depth information about plants, and to show people's favourite plants. Every participant will get the opportunity to let us know what his or her favourite plant is and why. And like every year, the trade fair theme will get attention in many ways. This could for example be in giving out the stand awards, which are for a large part based on the application of the theme in the stand itself.

Dual action
Trade fair GrootGroenPlus is not a one-way street. The theme will be integrated into the trade fair program and concerns both participants and visitors. A gardener or public green contractor might think that 10 plants are enough, while that 11th plant offers certain benefits that are indispensable to the design. Growers should be able to tell people more about this, since they have all the special knowledge about plants. Growers also often have the assortment to provide some alternatives. However, they are not always sure about how to present this. By giving attention to their favourite plants, they will be able to share their knowledge about plants with the professionals who are using these plants. This might enrich the entire assortment, which increases the chance for a broader application or one that is more focused on solutions. Partnerships with gardener associations, partners, and national and international media are used for this.

A wealth of knowledge
Among visitors and participants of trade fair GrootGroenPlus, there is a wealth of knowledge. With a theme that is all about plants and (sharing) knowledge, we hope to bring these parties together, in order to be able to go deeper. There are different ways to present knowledge: in a stand, but also for example in a personal conversation. The goal is to share valuable secrets.

Leading up to the trade fair, participants will get tools to work with the theme, and they will also be presented with the opportunity to express the theme prior to and during the trade fair. This happens for example through the pinpoint that is integrated in the theme logo. Besides that, participants will also get the opportunity to include their favourite in the digital participant catalogue. Visitors are also allowed to put pinpoints on their favourites.

If possible, all favourite plants will be collected in a book, which will also include the story of stand owners. And being a favourite will also be integrated in the trade literature. Peers and writers can tell us more about a book that has helped them a lot during their careers. A couple of these books will be highlighted on the trade fair, on a special square.

With all the activities surrounding the theme, it will be possible to attract a lot of attention prior to the start of the trade fair. This attention will be focused on the trade fair, but also on the theme, the participants, and of course: all the favourites.

Registration for participants and visitors

As we speak, more places are getting filled with an even more varied assortment. However, there are some spots that are still available. That is why we ask companies that think about participating to register as soon as possible. The same applies to the registration of novelties.

Participant registration opened up in January, and in May, we also activated the digital visitor registration on the website. Trade visitors can use this registration on the website to request free access to the trade fair.
