              Bulrush Help Horticulture Student to Grow Their Career

              Christmas certainly arrived early for horticulture student Emma McFarline who comes from Omagh, when she received a substantial bursary from Bulrush. This was just one of the bursaries from major agri-food and horticultural organisations awarded to Higher Education students from Greenmount Campus, CAFRE.

                  As SALTEX 2016 came to a close, it was apparent to exhibitors and visitors that Europe’s largest annual turf management event has found its rightful home at the NEC in Birmingham.
                  SALTEX 2016 was taken to a new level after an independent audit confirmed that the combined attendance over the two-day exhibition totaled an impressive 8,754.

                      I thank the House for inviting me to discuss the horticulture industry. The horticulture sector makes a very significant contribution to Ireland's gross agricultural output, with a farm gate output of €400 million in 2015. In terms of gross agricultural commodity output, horticulture is positioned third after beef and dairy.

                          European conference on Xylella fastidiosa: finding answers to a global problem | European Food Safety Authority

                          A major scientific conference on European research into Xylella fastidiosa is to be held in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, from 13-15 November 2017. The conference is being organised jointly by EFSA, the University of the Balearic Islands, the Euphresco network for phytosanitary research coordination and funding, and the EU Horizon 2020 projects POnTE and XF-ACTORS.
