2012-11-28: Bioenergy Commodity Trading 2012 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands

ACI’s 2nd Annual Bioenergy Commodity Trading event will take place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on 28-29 November 2012. This is the ideal setting to convene with your peers to discuss the roadmap to a sustainable bioenergy supply chain, focusing on national biomass subsidy schemes, sustainability & certification issues as well as assessing the business risk for the future.

2012-09-26: Lignofuels 2012 in Stockholm, Sweden

ACI’s 3rd Annual Lignofuels Summit will be taking place in Stockholm, Sweden, on 26-27 September 2012. The two day conference will bring together key industry stakeholders to discuss ways of integrating processes and technologies for production of fuels from lignocellulosic feedstocks. In addition to the two day conference, during the afternoon of Tuesday 25th September a limited number of conference attendees will have the opportunity to attend an exclusive site visit to Chemrec’s BioDME plant as well as SunPine’s CTO plant.

2012-06-11: 2013 Environment Calls in FP7 - InfoDay in Brussels, Belgium

The European Commission (Research & Innovation DG - Directorate Environment) is organising an InfoDay on FP7 Environment Research on 11 June. The event aims to highlight the novelties of the 2013 Work Programme due to be published in July. It will provide guidance on the preparation and submission of proposals.

2012-06-06: FP7 "Ocean of Tomorrow" Info Day in Brussels, Belgium

"The Ocean of Tomorrow 2013" will be the third and last cross-thematic call of its kind under FP7. It will involve Theme 2 "Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, and Biotechnology" (FAFB), Theme 4 "Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and New Production Technologies" (NMP), Theme 5 "Energy", Theme 6 "Environment (including Climate Change)" and Theme 7 "Transport (including Aeronautics)". "The Ocean of Tomorrow" also links to the "Horizon 2020" proposal, which acknowledges the importance of cross-cutting approaches.

This major global bioenergy get-together is based on the unique "Taking you from Know-How to Show-How" concept, combining tradeshow, conference sessions, field excursions and match-making into one comprehensive event. World Pellets 2012 is once again an integrated part of World Bioenergy, featuring the whole production chain from raw material to market development.

2011-09-26: COST - FTP Early Stage Researchers Forum 2011 in Warsaw, Poland

COST - FTP Early Stage Researchers Forum 2011, in conjunction with the 7th FTP conference 'Pacing Innovation for the Bioeconomy' will be held in the SOBIESKI HOTEL, Warsaw, Poland on the 26th September 2011, from 09:00 until 12:30. COST is supporting this event for Early Stage Researchers (ESR) and has foreseen 35 ESR grants. These grants will cover all travel, accomodation and subsistence costs.

2011-09-13: Foresight on Future Demand for Forest-based Products and Services: COST Dissemination Conference in Sekocin Stary (Near Warsaw), Poland

The aim of the COST Strategic Workshop series 2010-2011 is to carry out a wide-angle foresight exercise on the future demand for multiple forest-based products and services. The project combines expert workshops and a collection of data and perceptions by means of internet-based tools. The final conference on 13.9.2011 in Sekocin Stary (Near Warsaw), Poland is an event held under the patronage of the Polish EU Presidency and will present driving forces behind the changes in demand for forest-based products and services, and outlining a set of scenarios.

2011-09-05: Plant-based Chemistry congress in Paris, France

The main plant-based chemistry players in Europe are organizing this international “Plant-based Chemistry congress” with the focus on the achievements, challenges and opportunities. The meeting will be held in Paris at the Maison de la Chimie from Monday, September 5 to Wednesday, September 7, 2011 and forecasts to welcome 400 participants including academic researchers, industry representatives, policymakers and venture capital providers

2011-03-17: Gradewood Final Conference, Freising, Germany

On March 17th, 2011, there will be organized a conference to highlight the achievements of the project “Grading of timber for engineered wood products” (Gradewood). Gradewood is one of the projects funded through the 1st call of the WoodWisdom-Net Research Programme. The conference venue is at the School of Forestry Science and Resource Management of the TU Munich in Freising, Germany.

2010-08-30: The 2nd Summer School on Cellulose – Combined Contradictions, Germany

This year's ReCell Summer School on "Cellulose - Combined Contradictions" is taking place from 30 August - 1 September 2010 in Bomlitz, Germany. It is the second summer school within the transnational WoodWisdom-Net project ReCell. Registration is requested by 31 May 2010.

2010-03-09: Final Seminar of the project FireInTimber: Fire Safety in Timber Buildings. The final seminar of the project FireInTimber - a project funded within the 1st Call of the WoodWisdom-Net Research Programme - will be held on March 9, 2010 in Berlin. At the seminar the project will present the technical guideline 'Fire Safety in Timber buildings' which is the very first European guideline and has been developed within the project.

2009-11-11: WoodWisdom-Net Research Programme Mid-Term Seminar on Nov 11, 2009 in Stockholm, Sweden. The 2nd WoodWisdom-Net Programme Seminar is the second in a row of programme seminars that was started with the Opening Seminar of the WoodWisdom-Net Research Programme in February 2008 in Berlin. This public seminar will bring together researchers and their stakeholders from industry, academia and policy-making organisations in the forest-based sector. It aims at 1) being the mid-term seminar of the 17 ongoing projects to discuss interim results, facilitating information exchange and networking between the projects and their stakeholders, 2) getting feedback for further development of the WoodWisdom-Net Programme, and 3) launching the 2nd Joint Call for Proposals (2009) within the WoodWisdom-Net Programme. Furthermore, this Programme Seminar invites 3 tree-related research projects of the ERA-NET Plant Genomics Research Programme (ERA-PG).
