Water Testing for Horticulture

All IOFGA horticulture producers were recently sent a letter informing them about water testing. It is advisable to have your water tested at a labratory close to you to reduce possible contamination in transit. We have added a link below to the list of accredited labratories in the country.
You must use a labratory that is accredited and also please ensure that you only request them to carry out the following tests : Escherichia coli (E.coli), Enterococci, and Coliforms. This is in line with water testing requirements under the Drinking Water Directive 98/83.
Please confirm the price before you supply the water sample. IOFGA made some enquiries to labratories and the average costs for tests such as these are in the region of €35.
