'Making it Grow' Klasmann Deilmann Supporting Irish Horticulture & Jobs

Klasmann-Deilmann is the most successful group of companies in the international substrate industry. With several production companies in Ireland and throughout Europe as well as sales companies and trade partners in more than 70 countries, we lead the world market in this sector. Our growing media provide the basis for successful plant cultivation for professional growers all over the world.

At present, Klasmann-Deilmann develops a new business unit within the field of renewable resources and energies. We cultivate fast-growing tree species in short-rotation forestry and use wood chips as a source of heat and to produce wood fibre for growing media.

Our mission statement, which is based on our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, confronts us with the daily task of assuming responsibility for man, the environment and future generations.

Klasmann-Deilmann has had operations in Ireland since the early 1990s, and today its state-of-the-art substrate factory has an annual output of 100,000 cubic metres. Commercial growers in Great Britain, Ireland, and throughout Europe are supplied with growing media and raw materials from this excellent facility, which is located near Mullingar in County Westmeath.

In the 2011 financial year, the Klasmann-Deilmann Group generated consolidated sales of more than EUR 150 million and employed 900 people at its sites in Europe, America and Asia.
