International Best Practice Being Shared in Galway to Support Vibrant Food Chains

Teagasc hosted 20 EU experts in Galway for a 2-day meeting on the 10th and 11th of April to examine short food supply chains. This network, known as the SKIN (Short Supply Chain Knowledge and Innovation Network) project, is looking to identify best practice in short food chains across Europe to develop economically resilient chains that provide environmental and social benefits to the regions in which they are located.

HTA & NFU Business rates success for NI and UK Plant Nurseries

We are delighted by the recent Government policy that land and buildings at plant nursery grounds should benefit from the agricultural exemption for business rates.

The NFU, with the backing of the HTA, its expert rating advisors Turner Morum LLP, and the Ornamental Horticulture Roundtable fought hard for this exemption to be reaffirmed allowing growers the security to invest in the future.
