The Inspire Zone: Pushing the Boundaries at Chelsea

RHS

This year, we’re introducing four distinctive 'zones' to the show, each with its own special atmosphere and flavour. One of the zones, Inspire, pushes the boundaries of garden design with cutting-edge ideas and concepts. It's all about innovation, aspiration and fresh ideas.

What will I find in Inspire?

The RHS is passionate about promoting horticultural careers and the RHS National Young Designer Gardens are at the heart of that ethos. The brief for 2013 is 'Eco Innovations' and our three talented designers will not disappoint with their forward thinking, bio-diverse gardens. Our three designers, each making their show garden debut, are:

  • Tony Woods
  • Florian Degroise
  • Christopher James Szymkowicz

Interested in applying to be an RHS Young Designer in 2014? If you’re aged 28 and under, email our exhibitor applications team to find out more.

New for 2013, don't miss the Galaxy Gardens, which take their inspiration from the wonders of the night sky. To complement the gardens, Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre will be exhibiting an interactive science feature exploring the links between physics, astronomy and the Galaxy Gardens. Come and enjoy the science busking!

Pay a visit to The RHS Stand to find out more about our charitable work and campaigns, explore the benefits of RHS membership, and meet our team.

The Floral Design Studio showcases the talents of florists and floral arrangers as well as hosting floristry competitions throughout the week from Interflora and the British Florist Association.

Competition programme:

Thursday 25 July – Interflora Florist of the Future Finals
Friday 26 July – Interflora Florist of the Year Finals
Saturday 27 & Sunday 28 July – BFA Team College Award

The Floristry College Competition sees six colleges from across the UK creating displays to the theme of ‘Galaxy’. Participating colleges are East Durham, Bishop Burton, City of Bath, Neath Port Talbot, The Manchester College and Reaseheath.
