HortiTrends Weekly Comment and News Digest - May 10th
- 10 May 2013
Just like you we are always looking for signs to be optimistic, that there is some kind of recovery in the making. We do see some signs, such as more jobs being posted on www.JobsInHorticulture.ie Speaking as we do, with various people in the trade daily, there is a growing consensus that apart form the nightmare that has been the spring garden centre season, there is more activity in the overall market, that is horticulture. This is also being reaffirmed in Irish Retail Fresh Produce Market in Growth - Mike Neary.
Advertising and marketing works so, not ones to sit around and wait for things to happen the ALCI National Radio Advertising Campaign will highlight to the public the benefits of using trade professionals for designing and building their garden.
Another campaign and marketing opportunity is underway in Update on International Plants Day. You can promote your event linked to that date via the event website and also a campaign for the event, that we are promoting to the public on www.GardenGuide.ie
Thanks to Colin Cooney of Tully Landscapes who informed of an important piece of news in Park Atlantic Parks and Green Areas Sustainable Management Action Plan. If we don't have your news up, then it just means we cannot read your mind. Submit it HERE and tell the 6700 people who receive this newsletter every week along with the thousands who visit the site directly.
Another knowledge article Nostalgia...Engagement...Internet Savvy - John Stanley and if you are a retailer then there is a chance to see and hear him in the flesh at the Retail Excellence Ireland Retreat taking place next week.
There is an important forestry event taking place soon in The 3rd International Congress on Planted Forests also don't miss the Irish Forestry Woodland & Bio Energy Show 2013 or you will have to wait for another 2 years. A great event for the trade that is family friendly too.
Now I only need to get a plug in for another good supporter of this site, who are Rentes Plants. They are looking to buy 300/400 Plant Trolley's (see banner adverts) Another sign of recovery?
