Wedding Flower Ideas for Your Venue
- 17 June 2013
Few things are more associated with weddings than beautiful flowers and it’s not just about what the bride carries down the aisle either. Having flowers at your wedding venue will help carry the theme of your wedding through the day and set the tone for a celebration. We asked expert Interflora florist and floral designer Natalie Stanyer from Natalie’s Florist in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Staffordshire to come up with some show-stopping designs for your wedding venue.
Adorable Adornment
This gorgeous heart shaped door decoration has been deliberately designed so that when the fresh flowers fade they can be removed without losing any of the beauty of the wreath itself. Hence a base of eucalyptus, dried lavender and raffia, which is interspersed with spray rose Pepita, Memory Lane roses, gypsophilia and astrantia. Pink woven wool delicately woven through the design brings the different elements together.
Summerhouse Sensation
Who could resist taking afternoon tea in this welcoming setting? Pretty, vintage style hand-tieds fill the centre of the table, displayed in stylish glass vases. A combination of Avalanche roses, bouvardia and hydrangea are set off with delicate stems of green thlaspi, before being tied with raffia. The lattice back of the chairs is ideal for attaching simple hand-tieds of roses and hydrangea using lengths of white lace.
Radiant Reception
Accentuate an entrance hall with a show-stopping design. Using purple clematis and hydrangea, peach, pink and lilac roses and scented bouvardia, this design has been accessorised with beading, pearl jewels and purple wired wool.
Name’s Sake
Create elegant place settings by placing a few delicate stems in minature milk bottles. A pretty, hand-written name tag is the perfect finishing touch.
Flora al Fresco
If your celebration is to be held outdoors why not light the place up with this gorgeous combination of flowers arranged around a stunning silver lantern. Here we’ve surrounded a lantern by large headed Avalanche roses in shades of ivory, peach and pink, hydrangea, delicate gypsophilia and clematis, the latter providing strong accents of colour. Stems of zantedeschia and heads of pure white phalaenopsis orchid add that exquisite designer detail.
Floral Bunting
No party would be complete without bunting! Make yours stand out from the crowd by adding small bunches of fresh flowers. Your guests will love it.
Birdcage Beauty
These ornate birdcages are ideal for decorating outdoor spaces, or to sit on a table as a stunning centrepiece. Inside flowers and fruits have been secured into floral foam. Pepita spray roses, astrantia, Avalanche, Sweet Avalanche, Peach Avalanche, Memory Lane, trailing hedera and strawberries help create the look.
Cupcake Cascade
Who can resist a cupcake, floral or otherwise? Their popularity is still huge, down to their versatility and universal appeal. These examples are just charming and make a wonderful focal point when displayed as a table centrepiece.
