HortiTrends News Weekly and Comment - Time to travel - September Means Four Oaks, Saltex & Glee - August 26th

We are busy preparing for the many trade-shows that will take place in September and October including the Four Oaks, Saltex and Glee. With Saltex moving to the NEC in Birmingham next year, it will be the last chance to visit it in the wonderful setting of the Windsor Racecourse outside London. Its one of my favourite shows to visit, due to the practical nature of the machinery demonstrations that they put on alomng with the tree climbing trials etc. Somebody in Saltex's head-office has decided that a re-invention of the show was needed and so picked a grassless/treeless site that will just annoy and alienate its core audience even further. Glee itself is also in a perpetual relaunch mode and try's to market itself as all things to everyone with little success. No end of markekting tricks but very little substance when it comes to communicating with its core garden retail audience. The Four Oaks on the other hand does what it say's on the tin.
