- 03 June 2013
At the beginning of March a new trial was launched at the GreenQ Improvement Centre. A two year trial on finding the perfect rose with the latest available technology. The goal for the first year is to use 15% less electricity and 30% less heating. In the second year the goal is to save 20% less electricity and 40% less heating. Besides the goals the production should remain the same as in practice.
Weeks of modifications were required to install all the new equipment in order to achieve the goals. With new glass, the installment of OPAC's, LED's and SON-T lights this trial is ready to cultivate the roses in the most durable and economical way.
The trial is funded by the Dutch Horticultural Board and the Ministry of Economical Affairs, Samenwerken aan Vaardigheden and Provincie Zuid Holland. Also the companies Van Dijk Heating, Cultilène, Philips, Lek Habo Groep BV en Schreurs are involved.
