Mulch Opens Ireland’s First Under Cover Drive-Through Garden Waste Recycling Centre in Dublin

New Mulch retail store offers 100% peat-free garden products for environmentally-minded gardeners and landscapers. Mulch, the garden waste recycling and compost specialist, has opened Ireland’s first drive-through green waste centre and a new retail store in a 12,000 square foot facility in Coolock in North County Dublin. The company, which was founded in 2011, receives green garden waste such as grass, leaves, trees and hedges which is then recycled and composted into top quality, environmentally friendly, garden products.

Mulch was created to provide a facility for environmentally minded gardeners and landscapers to dispose of green waste and purchase 100% peat free compost, which can be difficult to obtain in Ireland. Mulch is one of the few licensed garden waste facilities in Dublin City and the only one under cover.

John McGuinness, Founder and Director of Operations, Mulch said “Urban gardeners and landscapers require a convenient and cost-effective way to dispose of garden waste and our new facility has been designed to make things as easy as possible. Most multi-purpose composts available in garden centres in Ireland contain large quantities of peat, despite the fact that it is an increasingly depleted natural resource. We recycle everything we take in which allows us to produce a range of peat-free products to go right back into the garden. We believe that there is great potential to expand our business into other urban centres in Ireland and the UK in the coming years.”

The Mulch business operates three distinct pillars:

1. Green Waste
Mulch receives any waste which grows in a garden, including grass, leaves, trees, hedges, branches and cuttings. Mulch is open to all vehicle types and trailers, and to both domestic and commercial landscapers and waste does not need to be bagged in advance. For those who cannot move large quantities of garden waste Mulch also offers a collection service.

2. Garden Products
The green waste received is recycled and composted to create superior own branded 100% peat free products which can be sold loose in bulk and in smaller easy to handle bags. These include:
· Mulch Super Grow Compost

· Mulch Soil Enricher

· Mulch Big Bark

· Mulch Fine Bark

Mulch also has a retail store on site which sells a range of garden tools and products including flat packed raised beds. For those that require large quantities Mulch also deliver all products available in the retail store.

3. Household Fuel
Mulch also sells a range of household fuels including Kiln Dried Ash Hardwood which is suitable for open fires, stoves and glass fronted appliances, and contains less than 15% moisture to ensure maximum heat and durability whilst burning; Renewable eCoal, the market leading eco-friendly fuel, made from 50% renewable materials and de-icing salt for winter.
