Look Back at SALTEX 2015 - Look Forward to 2016

It’s official. SALTEX 2015 is the UK’s largest turf management event. The Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG) has revealed the independently audited attendance figures for SALTEX 2015. Significantly exceeding expectations, the figures confirmed that SALTEX is the largest turf management exhibition in the UK.

Teagasc Education Update

Overall college enrolments for Teagasc level 5, level 6, and Teagasc linked higher education courses in agriculture, horticulture, equine and forestry for the 2016/17 academic year stand at 1,873. While 5% lower than for 2015, overall enrolments remain at 2014 and 2013 levels.

Irish Landscape Quality Management System: Call for Expression of Interest

Ireland’s cross-sector representative body, The Irish Association of Landscape Industries (iali.ie), is delighted to announce the launch of an exciting new project aimed at addressing a range of issues and opportunities identified in Ireland's landscape design, construction and maintenance sectors. With funding support from Bord Bia, the IALI is commencing work on phase one of Ireland’s first Landscape Quality Management System (LQMS).

Over 1,000 nurserymen, garden centre operators, landscapers, groundsmen, arborists and other professionals from the leisure horticulture industry gathered at the annual GLAS horticulture trade exhibition, held at Dublin’s Citywest Convention Centre.

Supported by Bord Bia, GLAS showcased the best in leisure horticulture, plants, products, machinery and services.

Outdoor Demonstrations Return to SALTEX for 2016

The organisers of SALTEX have announced that outdoor working demonstrations will be returning to the 2016 exhibition, which will be held on 2 and 3 November at the NEC, Birmingham.

The return of this feature will once again provide exhibitors with the opportunity to showcase their products in an outdoor setting. The decision to bring back outdoor working demonstrations was made based on the SALTEX 2015 post-show feedback surveys.
