My Land, Your Land – Ireland

Agri Aware’s garden brings the journey of Ireland’s agri-food industry to life. The garden tells the story of Irish agriculture and food, through a farm to fork food circle. Now in its 20th year, Agri Aware aims to communicate the importance of the agri-food industry to the public, highlighting how farming is embracing sustainable practices and creating safe, affordable, traceable and quality food for Irish consumers and the export market.

The garden combines a variety of farming practices including Ireland’s unique grass-fed dairy and beef system and horticulture (vegetable and fruit garden, a diverse range of crops, apple trees and so on). There will also be a traditional hedgerow and wildflowers, water conservation and composting. Agri Aware will bring the garden to life with a hay shed, which will include an outdoor kitchen and dining area with rural characters, guest speakers, school children and chefs present during the weekend – making for a novel and engaging garden.

Leaving behind Hungary and her professional career as an HR consultant, Tünde Szentesi moved to Ireland more than 10 years ago to evolve her hobby – gardening. After a few years’ experience as a gardener, she decided to pursue her dream career and applied to study garden and landscape design. She earned a BTEC Higher Diploma in Landscape Design from Senior College Dun Laoghaire and continued her studies at the University of Gloucestershire in England. In Cheltenham, she earned a degree as a landscape architect. Tünde has worked with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and with Elma Fenton Garden Designer and founded her garden and landscape design business, TündeLandscapeS, in 2013. She is no stranger to Bloom, previously winning a Silver-Gilt Medal in 2016 with ‘Out The Other Side: A Garden of Hope’ for Marie Keating Foundation. She also has two Bloom Silver Medals (2015 and 2013) and won ‘Best in Category’ award for her small garden in 2013.(View profile)
