Job Description | The intern will gain practical experience in the daily operation of a Regional Authority Office, legislation relating to National and regional planning processes, monitoring and implementation of Regional Planning Guidelines (RPGs) (especially in relation to development plans and local area plans), collation and interpretation of regional data. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the following; role and function of Regional Authorities in Ireland, on the job practical experience of working in an office environment, data gathering, analysis and comparative studies. On completion the intern will have attained skills in understanding and implementing the planning process in Regional Authorities in Ireland,report writing, participating in and working with teams. Skills Requirements The person should have a knowledge of the region and be aware of the role and function of the Border Regional Authority and Local Authorities in Ireland. Candidates should have a working knowledge of computers (and Ms Office), good communication skills and be an enthusiastic team member. Please Note: This is an Internship. An allowance of ?50 per week will be paid in addition to your current Social Welfare payment.See eligibility criteria above. Department Regional Planning Mentor The Organisation will assign a mentor to support you during the Internship.
