The intern will gain practical experience in planning the re-design & implementation of a Campus wide recycling project. Team working. S/he will gain insight to the wider Green Campus programme. Interpersonal skills & oral & written communication skills. Problem solving. Basic marketing skills-designing material & planning promotional events aimed at securing ?buy in? to the project & persuading staff and students across the College Community to support the initiative. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the following: Website design. On completion the intern will have attained skills in: Interpersonal skills & oral & written communication skills. Problem solving ? engaging with fellow team members to resolve problems & obstacles to progress.

Skills Requirements

Enthusiastic, energetic, out-going person, a ?self starter? capable of working alone and as part of a small team. Good people skills which will facilitate on-going inter-action with staff and students of all ages and backgrounds. An innovative person capable of bringing forward new ideas and new approaches to overcome ?blockages? and obstacles to progressing the project. The Intern will have MS Word, Excel, email, & Adobe Dreamweaver (desirable)

Please Note:

This is an Internship. An allowance of ?50 per week will be paid in addition to your current Social Welfare payment.See eligibility criteria above.

Education Requirements:

Third Level - Marketing skills and an environmental qualification or strong interest in the environment and sustainability issues. A qualification in or knowledge of the waste management and recycling industry.
