Horti Fair Continuing to Pursue New Course

Horti Fair

The Flower Catwalk, the HortiSeminars and the Horti Fair Experience are just some of the highlights featured in Horti Fair 2012. This year's biggest international trade show for Technology, Innovation and Inspiration in Horticulture will take place in the Amsterdam RAI from 30 October to 2 November inclusive.

In 2011, the Horti Fair embarked on a new course that focuses on offering exhibitors and visitors more professional content, more spectacle and more networking opportunities.

HortiSeminars

The Horti Fair is continuing to pursue this course in 2012. Again being included, for example, are the small-scaled HortiSeminars in which experts update their audience on a current topic of interest in no more than 90 minutes. Topics this year will include multi-layer cultivation, marketing and starting new construction projects. A knowledge fee is charged for attending the HortiSeminars. More information at www.hortifair.com/hortiseminars/. (Note for the editorial staff: Representatives of the press have free admittance to the HortiSeminars).

Innovation Award and Press Award

The Horti Fair is the leading trade show for the launch of new products and services. Exhibitors can enter their new product or service in the Innovation Award and Press Award competitions. From all these entries, a jury of experts selects the most striking one for the Innovation Award. The winner of the Press Award is chosen by a jury composed of international trade journalists. The winners will be announced in the Horti Fair's central hall on Tuesday morning, 30 October at 9:00 hours.

Interpolis Quality Cup

Another exciting award will also be presented on the same day: the Interpolis Quality Cup. This will take place in the Interpolis House of Quality. This is where many hundreds of cut flowers and pot plants will be on exhibit throughout the Horti Fair to be assessed according to the type of product by the judges of the VKC permanent judging committee. The winners will then be eligible for the Interpolis Quality Cup and the New2Market award for new products. These awards will be presented in the Interpolis House of Quality on Tuesday morning, 30 October at 15.30 hours.

Exciting events

Horti Fair has even more to offer. The stage at the House of Technology & Innovation will be the place for interesting presentations and vigorous debates. The Horti Fair Experience pavilion will set the scene for the presentation of HortiCoop's Pretty Faces Calendar on Tuesday, 30 October as well as the announcement of the winner of the Marketing Cup (a prize for the exhibitor who attracts the most visitors to Horti Fair) on Thursday, 1 November.

Growers' Social Hour and Flower Catwalk

Another major event that growers are looking forward to is the growers' social hour in the Interpolis House of Quality on Tuesday afternoon, 30 October. This will kick off with the presentation of the Interpolis Quality Cup. The daily Flower Catwalk held in Hall 10 promises a great show. Models will be wearing fashions created by Israeli floral artist Shlomi Ilani and made completely of floriculture products.

Theme pavilions

Distributed throughout the Horti Fair this year are nine theme pavilions. Each of these pavilions (or Houses) accommodates businesses focused on a certain theme. New this year is the Sustainable Growing Plaza. Other theme pavilions include the Interpolis House of Quality, the House of Technology & Innovation, AVAG Market, the Career Plaza and the Turnkey Booth Pavilion.
