DIT and Bord Bia In Exciting Research Partnership

Lisa Koep, a doctoral student at DIT, has won an Irish Research Council (IRC) enterprise partnership award to study the challenges and best practice for companies to communicate claims about sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

Her research will focus on the Origin Green project of Bord Bia, the enterprise partner, that aims to promote Ireland as a world leader in sustainably produced food and drink. It is the only sustainability programme in the world that operates on a national scale, uniting government, the private sector and food producers through Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board. Independently verified, it enables Ireland's farmers and producers to set and achieve measurable sustainability targets – reducing environmental impact, serving local communities more effectively and protecting the extraordinarily rich natural resources that Ireland enjoys.

Lisa is a graduate of Trinity College and DIT, and worked as a manager with Lidl for seven years. She will carry out her research under the supervision of Professor Aidan O'Driscoll of the school of marketing and the Business, Society and Sustainability research centre, and also under the mentorship of Padraig Brennan of Bord Bia.
