Abstract: Kilkenny Forestry is a group of forest owners who collectively hope to improve their forestry by good management and timely harvesting. The group was initially supported by Teagasc Forestry Development Department and Kilkenny Leader Partnership.
Over 100 farmers have attended events and in February 2012 an interim committee met to formalise the group structure. Since then monthly meetings have occurred and significant progress has taken place.
The group are interested in combining their resources to sell timber and are looking for a facilitator to develop and co-ordinate the group.
