Title: Conservation Architect services for building reinstatement project at Athy Model School, Co. Kildare
Abstract: Individual expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified Architects, who wish to be considered for inclusion to oversee a building redevelopment project at the Old Model School, Athy, Co. Kildare.
PLEASE NOTE THE SENIOR PROJECT ARCHITECT AND SENIOR BACK UP, IN ADDITION TO THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AS SET OUT IN THE SUITABILITY ASSESSMENT QUESTIONNAIRE QC1, MUST HAVE A RECOGNISED CONSERVATION ARCHITECT GRADE 1 QUALIFICATION. THIS REQUIRMENT APPLIES TO ARCHITECTS ONLY.
The architect will also be required to subcontract the services of suitably qualified Quantity Surveyors, Building Services (M&E) Engineers and Civil/Structural Engineers for a single point commission.
The Client for this project is the Department of Education and Skills.
The project entails the reinstatement of the existing buildings, which were extensively damaged by fire to a state such that the building can be utilised for educational or other related purposes. The building is circa 1,000sqm in area and is a protected structure. The works also include all necessary external works.
