Title: Training Programme for Town of Food, Kilkenny
Abstract: The Board of Town of Food seek qualified individual(s) to tender to deliver a set of training for the Town of Food project. In March 2013 Kilkenny LEADER Partnership launched its Kilkenny Town of Food competition focused on KLP’s strategy to develop and support the food industry in the county in a sustainable and socially inclusive way. Thomastown Town of Food Community Group’s winning proposal beat off competition to be crowned Kilkenny’s Town of Food. Thomastown Town of Food plans to create a food hub that will include a food training centre, food incubation facilities, R&D space, a professional food training kitchen and community garden. This hub will increase the appreciation, knowledge and promotion of locally produced and wholesome products through an innovative, entrepreneurial and supportive environment for producers and greater community not just in the surrounding area but also in the greater county and beyond. This tender outlines the type of training courses Town of Food, Kilkenny plans to run from September 2013 to December 2014.
