Tenders: Developing the potential of the Burren as a Learning Landscape – a feasibility study

Ref: JUN349695
Notice Type: Invitation to Tender
Title: Developing the potential of the Burren as a Learning Landscape – a feasibility study
Published: 08/06/2012
Published by: Burrenbeo Trust
Deadline: 29/06/2012
Abstract: Burrenbeo Trust wishes to secure professional support in order to help develop a well researched, realistic but innovative and visionary plan for the development of the Burren’s rich potential as a learning landscape of international renown. The programme of work involved will include research into international best practice in place-based learning and identify potential competitors and market gaps in this particular field. Within the Burren the consultants will need to conduct an audit of existing learning resources (human, infrastructural etc) and propose how (e.g. through training, refurbishment, marketing) these might best be further developed and enhanced to become part of the learning landscape. Research – including surveys - into existing users of the Burren’s learning resources and existing providers and services will also be necessary as Burrenbeo does not seek to displace existing providers but to complement and support them. All of this information must be distilled into a well thought out development plan for the learning landscape, developed in consultation with the promoters and other relevant bodies, detailing financial projections. Recommendations on potential routes to market for the learning landscape and potential supporters in the development of this exciting concept will also be required. Tender proposals must be submitted by a lead consultant but may include a consortium of relevant contractors.
