Taoiseach Announces 78 New Jobs at Largo Foods and Tayto Park

Taoiseach Enda Kenny recently announced the creation of 78 jobs at Largo Foods and Tayto Park. The new jobs will bring the total number of people employed by Largo Foods and Tayto Park to 798.

Speaking at the event the Taoiseach said

"I'm delighted that Tayto, as an Irish food icon, continues to grow strongly with the addition of 78 new jobs. Ireland's food industry is a vital part of our domestic economy and is central to our export orientated recovery. In addition I'm delighted that Tayto Park continues to attract in more visitors especially in this year of The Gathering."

Tayto Park, set on 55 acres, hosts a variety of playgrounds, restaurants, shops, animal areas and open plains hosting rare creatures such as ocelots and Amur leopards.

The Largo Foods factory in Ashbourne is located less than 100m from Tayto Park enabling a fun crisp factory tour to be part of the entry fee to Tayto Park. Largo Foods also has production facilities in Gweedore, Co. Donegal and in Barnsley, Yorkshire in the UK.

Approximately 2 million bags of crisps are manufactured by Largo Foods every day. Over 30,000 tonnes of potatoes are sourced from Irish farmers annually with the majority of potatoes coming from Meath, Dublin, Louth, Tipperary and Wexford.
